About Run Local & DashLX
We are an event company, but we’re also a small business with big ambitions to support and grow the running community. We’re always trying new things to see what people like. In short, we also like to move.
For those of you who participated in any of our virtual challenges such as the California Coast 500 or the California Challenge, DashLX is an evolution of the company that provided that technology. LX stands for Lived Experiences and we love the focus on ‘lived’.
We want you to get out and move. Like, in the real world. On roads, trails, wherever you move (okay, okay, we know life is busy and a treadmill or Peloton gets a pass). We don’t want you coming back to Run Local to like or comment. There’s a ton of other platforms that can do that (you may have heard of Strava). We don’t want to ever make a decision based on how can we keep our audience on the platform longer? Rather we should be asking how can we keep our audience outside and playing longer? If we can achieve that, its a win.

Run Local+ is currently available for FREE to founding members and focuses on supporting our community through personalized communication & special events access.
You gain a 2023-2024 Run Local+ membership by syncing your device to DashLX.
It’s FREE for founding members for the remainder of 2023 and 2024 membership cycle when you sync your device to DashLX prior to December 31, 2023 🎉

About DashLX Setup & Tech
Once you’ve registered with DashLX by clicking the button above or this link, you’ll sync your device and through the DashLX Dashboard access your personal preferences such as what devices you’re connected with, an activity feed, etc.
Any device manufactured by Apple, Coros, Fitbit, Garmin, Polar, or Suunto will work on Run Local+. If you have a device that isn’t made by one of the listed manufacturers, please let us know so we can better understand general interest to integrate with additional manufacturers.
NOTE: Please be aware that only activities recorded with the Apple Watch Workout app recorded within the past 30 days will sync to RunLocal+ (DashLX). Activities uploaded to the Health app from a third party, such as Strava, will not sync to RunLocal+ (DashLX).
Account registration requires a name, email, and age. Once a device is linked, LX is limited to recorded activities. Recorded activities include, but is not limited to, information such as location, start and end times, duration, steps, distance, elevation gain and loss, and heart rate.
No. LX and information from the Run Local+ community will not be sold to or shared with third parties.
Due to the unique nature of Run Local+, via the sharing of your LX, we can provide personalized content such as race and training recommendations, host community challenges and raffles based on activity data, surprise you with motivation when you need it and much more!
Ha! Good one. Unless ChatGPT can power authentic, relevant recommendations for you we’re not planning on it. Should we ever decide to use ChatGPT in some capacity we will communicate it with everyone, outline how it will be used and mark the communication from ChatGPT as such. Until then we’re just making the marketing team work more. They love it. Really, they do.
While linking a device isn’t necessary, it is required to share your LX. Not linking a device is like showing up to a sold out event. You’ll be there physically (just outside the entrance), but you won’t experience what makes Run Local+ so special.
There is a great work around if you can download the Suunto app on your smartphone. Suunto has a slick activity recorder, which we would be able to grab your activity from without an additional physical device.
Once you link your device, go to the “Feed” tab on the DashLX app. After a few minutes, you should see your recent workouts begin to populate. Then you can close the app and continue to train normally. Your linked device will upload future activities automatically.

You can link as many devices as you have. If you have multiple devices from one manufacturer, i.e. Garmin, you only have to link the one Garmin account associated with those devices.
The DashLX app is designed to be self serve. If, in the future, you want to make changes to your account, including changing your data sharing preferences, log back in and go to “Account”.
